When Does Rooftop Cinema Screen?

Every night except Monday and Friday nights, December 2010 – March 2011.

What Time Does It Open?

Doors open at 8.30PM. Box Office is open 5.00-9.30PM Tues-Thurs and 7.00-9.30PM Sat-Sun.

What Time Do Screenings Start?

Screening starts at 9.30PM. We recommend you arrive at least 30 mins early. Finding a seat and staring at the view can take a little bit of time.

Is there an intermission?

Yes, we’ll be stopping the film for 15 minutes half way through, so you can stretch, get a drink, and take in the view. But don’t worry, we’ll make sure we stop the film at a particularly good cliffhanger moment.

What Time Does It Close?

We are licensed to 1AM so please hang around with us afterwards.

How Do I Get There?

Public Transport: On any tram up Swanston Street, or by getting off the train at Melbourne Central Station and walking two blocks downhill.

Driving: By driving and parking just around the corner at Golden Square Car Park, 225-231 Lonsdale Street.

Can I Book For Large Groups Of 10 Or More?

What Should I Wear?

This is Melbourne people, so bring yourself a jumper just in case or a blanket if you're a real softy. You can also hire a blanket from our Box Office.

Can I BYO Drink And Food?

No, but you'll be pleased to know that we are serving fresh food from the very delicious All Day Burger. Rooftop Cinema is Fully Licensed.

Do I Bring My Own Seating?

No, there are 160 amazing Ici Et La deck chairs for you to choose from. They are like lollies for your eyes.

Can I Smoke?

Sure, but not on the synthetic-grass area or we will gun you down.

Ominous Weather?

Rooftop Cinema reserves the right to cancel any film in the case of bad weather. If the night is to be cancelled ahead of the screening, the homepage of this website will show a Twitter notification (This will be done by 7.30PM on the night of the screening). Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages for updates.

Does the Rooftop Cinema Have Wheelchair Access?

We regret that the Rooftop Cinema is not wheelchair accessible.
