Synopsis
Paris is Burning [1990] is a seminal documentary chronicling the ball culture of NYC and the African America, Latino gay and trangendered community in the mid-to-late '80s. Filmed over 7 years by Jennie Livingston it includes footage of competitions and interviews with prominent members of the scene such as Pepper LaBeija, Dorian Corey, Anji Xtravaganza, and Willi Ninja. Paris Is Burning is hosted by Melbourne-based record store HearNow.
