SYNOPSIS

Michael Mann movies are glamorous, crisply shot cat-and-mouse chases between criminals and cops. His hunt for notorious Depression-era heistmeister John Dillinger (Johnny Depp) becomes a kind of western, complete with gunplay and extreme closeups. Even if dogged FBI agent Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale) gets his man, he'll never kill Dillinger's legend.
